New
rules for the testing of LP Gas Delivery Trucks are in the
making. The APGA has successfully lobbied Arkansas Bureau
of Standards, Weights and Measures Division and an agreement
was reached to write legislation for the removal of the
mandatory annual testing of all LP delivery trucks by the
State of Arkansas. To replace this will be a system whereby
commercial testers, who are licensed by the State, will
be able to perform this function annually and it will be
the responsibility of the dealer to insure this is accomplished.
Any truck not tested is automatically ineligible to deliver
product. As for the breaking of seals, the procedure now
is to notify Weights and Measures and the dealer will be
authorized to break the seal for repair purposes. The truck
is automatically red-tagged until placed back in service
by an authorized and licensed meter testing company. The
proposed legislation is being written by the office of the
Attorney General at the request of Weights and Measures
and we, as an Association, plan to move it through the legislative
process for passage and signature by the Governor.
